Principal Ricardo Moreno

Dear Shepard Families,
I am excited and honored to introduce myself as your new principal of Shepard Middle School. It is with great enthusiasm that I join the amazing community that is dedicated to nurturing
students and fostering academic achievement. My name is Ricardo Moreno and I am a long time resident of South San Antonio, having graduated from Harlandale High School. My journey in education spans over fourteen years, all of which have been devoted at the secondary level. I initially began my career at South San ISD where I taught history at Kazen Middle School. With my fourteen years of experience in education, I firmly believe that every child deserves a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment in which to learn and thrive. I am excited to begin this journey and confident that together, we will cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continual growth, empowering and uplifting not only our future leaders, but our surrounding community. Beyond my role as principal, my wife Daniella, a middle school counselor, find joy in spending time together as a family along with our newborn daughter, Davina. As a family, we enjoy cheering on our San Antonio Spurs, and engaging in our local community. Our Shepard team is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to get to know each of you and collaborate to ensure that every child at Shepard receives a top-tier education and the support they need to excel academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for embracing me into the Shepard family. I am genuinely excited to embark on this journey together and to make a positive impact on our campus.
